Berkowitz Pollack Brant Adds Five Associate Directors

Miami, February 2022– Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs today announced the addition of five new associate directors to the firm.

The new associate directors are Oleg Beloglazov, ASA, CFA, ACCA; Gary L. Curtis, CPA; Liz McGrath, Laura Schulte, JD; and Jason Soman, CPA/ABV, CFE,ASA, CDFA®.

Chief Executive Officer Joseph L. Saka commented, “The addition of these new associate directors to the firm reflects the growth of different practice areas. Oleg, Gary, Liz, Laura and Jason bring unique talent and experience to help us best serve our clients.”

Oleg Beloglazov brings more than 10 years of experience providing business valuation and financial advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift taxation, corporate reorganizations and recapitalizations, and employee stock ownership plans.

Beloglazov has extensive knowledge and experience in valuations of businesses, intangible assets and complex securities for financial reporting, tax and corporate purposes, including goodwill impairment testing, deferred compensation/stock options (IRC 409A), private equity interests and litigation support. He is fluent in English, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian and hold degrees from Holt International Business School and Belarusian State Economic University.

Gary L. Curtis specializes in assisting companies with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and divestiture structuring. In addition, he helps clients in the manufacturing, real estate, retail and technology space with federal and state tax structuring, IRS and state tax jurisdiction representation and tax planning. Curtis brings more than 30 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to corporations, S-corporations and partnerships, including multi-state income tax returns and planning. Curtis holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Phillips University.

Liz McGrath provides tax planning to domestic and international high-net-worth individuals and assists with their trust and estate planning and cross-border issues. She has extensive experience with pre-immigration and expatriation planning, and foreign bank and asset reporting for individuals in the U.S. and abroad. McGrath holds a master’s degree in business administration from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Binghamton University.

Laura Schulte has experience providing public and private real estate companies, property management businesses, hedge funds, private equity funds and foreign investors with tax planning, structuring and research and compliance needs. Schulte specializes in complex transaction structuring, planning and tax compliance involving real estate partnerships and investment funds, equity and debt real estate investment trusts (REITs) and international investors and outbound real estate investments. She holds a LL.M. in tax from Boston University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from University of South Florida.

Jason Soman advises attorneys, business owners and high-net-worth individuals on complex matters involving business valuations and forensic accounting. In addition to developing a specialized focus on matrimonial matters, he has deep experience uncovering financial improprieties and defending analyses and conclusions in shareholder and partner disputes, commercial transactions, commercial litigation and estate and gift tax matters. Soman holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana University, a bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems from Queens College and a certificate in advanced valuation from New York University.
