Berkowitz Pollack Brant Promotes Three to Director

MIAMI, Jan 3, 2022 – Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs has promoted three firm members to director. These promotions reflect the firm’s growth, diversity of practices and commitment to promoting from within.

The new directors are Angie Adames, CPA; Joshua P. Heberling, CPA; and Karen A. Lake, CPA, CFST.

Angie Adames is a director in the Tax Services practice and focuses on tax and consulting services for real estate companies, manufacturing, high-net-worth individuals and closely owned businesses. She specializes in tax depreciation and tangible property regulations, pass-through entities and real estate transactions. Adames holds an executive master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Joshua Heberling is a director in the Tax Services practice and focuses on tax compliance and consulting services for closely held companies and high-net-worth individuals in the real estate industry. He has developed a special focus on complex partnership agreements and tax planning for real estate investors and developers. Clients appreciate his ability to analyze data while integrating information into long-term project goals. Heberling holds a master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University.

Karen Lake is a director in our State and Local Tax Services practice and focuses on helping business and individuals develop their tax structures and navigate complex state and local situations. She has specialized experience in state tax risk, tax structuring, improving cash flow and use of debt, and federal and state credits and incentives. Lake is on the board of trustees for the Florida Tax Watch and is a member of the FICPA Board of Directors and Counsel. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University.
