Scott Bouchner Honored by AICPA for Volunteer Work in Forensic and Valuation Services

NASHVILLE, TN (November 7, 2016) – The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has presented its Forensic & Litigation Services Volunteer of the Year Award to Scott Bouchner, CPA, CFF, and its Business Valuation Volunteer of the Year Award to Stacy Preston Collins, CPA, ABV, CFF.

The annual awards were presented today at the annual AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Conference in Nashville.

“Stacy and Scott have inspired us all through their work at AICPA by displaying significant leadership and amazing dedication to advancing their respective fields,” said Jeannette Koger, CPA, CGMA, vice president of member specialization and credentialing at the AICPA. “They are great examples of the members who generously volunteer their time and talent to improve the accounting profession.”

Bouchner is Director of Forensic and Business Valuation Services at Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors and Accountants, LLP in Miami, FL.  He has served on the AICPA’s Forensic and Litigation Services Damages Task Force since 2010.  He also was a member of the CFF Exam Development Task Force.  He is co-author of the AICPA Practice Aids “Discount Rates, Risk, and Uncertainty in Economic Damages Calculations” and “Attaining Reasonable Certainty in Economic Damages Calculations”.  He speaks frequently at the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services Conference and on webinars.

Collins is Managing Director at Financial Research Associates in New York, NY.  Since 2011, she has served as faculty chair for the AICPA’s Expert Witness Skills Workshop, a highly rated boot camp dedicated to the training of expert witnesses.  She has been a member of the Forensic and Legal Services Family Law Task Force since 2007, acting as task force chair from 2010 to 2012. She also has been a member of the Forensic & Litigation Services Committee.

The FVS Section of the AICPA represents CPAs who provide forensic accounting and business valuation services. It offers the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) specialty credentials for CPAs who concentrate in these areas.
