Berkowitz Pollack Brant Promotes Four to Director

MIAMI, Jan. 1, 2019 – Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors and Accountants has promoted four firm members to director. This class of promotions reflects the firm’s growth, diversity of practices and commitment to promoting from within.

The new directors are Robert Aldir, CPA; Laurence Bernstein, CPA; Andrew Leonard, CPA; and Ken Vitek, CPA.

Robert Aldir is a director in the Audit and Attest Services practice and focuses on multi-national companies that operate under International Financial Reporting Standards (IRFS) and pre-IPO companies. He also handles Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance, internal audit services and audit and accounting services for real estate companies, agricultural and farming enterprises, petroleum and mining and financial institutions. Aldir holds a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University.

Laurence Bernstein is a director in the Tax Services practice. Bernstein leads the firm’s Accounting Intelligence practice, which provides outsourced cloud-based accounting to growing and mid-sized companies. Focused on process improvement and leveraging technology, Bernstein assist clients streamline and take advantage of real-time accounting. He also works with real estate developers, entrepreneurs and family offices. Bernstein holds master’s and bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Florida.

Andrew Leonard is a director in the International Tax Services practice and focuses on tax structuring, pre-immigration planning and international tax consulting services. With experience in foreign trusts, export tax incentives and IC-DISC, offshore reporting and FIRPTA tax withholding, he is a resource to clients around the world. Leonard works with expatriates, multi-national companies and foreigners who invest in US assets. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Ken Vitek is a director in the International Tax Services practice and focuses on business consulting, tax planning and pre-immigration planning for high-net-worth families, entrepreneurs and real estate investors. He assists US clients who are making investments in foreign jurisdictions, international and domestic trusts, structuring cross-border debt and gift tax planning for multinational families. Vitek holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rollins College.
