Berkowitz Pollack Brant Recognizes Newly Promoted Firm Members

MIAMI, July 16, 2025 – Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs recently announced the promotion of 65 firm members, including the advancement of 10 firm members to associate director.
Nicholas Angarano joined the Tax Services group in 2017. He specializes in real estate taxation, with additional expertise in cost segregation studies, like-kind exchanges and partnership taxation. Angarano holds both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
Samantha Figueroa joined the Assurance and Advisory Services team in 2017. She focuses on serving clients in the real estate, construction, employee benefit plan and hospitality industries. Figueroa holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Yovanny Hernandez joined the Tax Services group in 2018. He works with clients across all sectors of the real estate industry, including construction, development, brokerage and real estate investment funds. Hernandez holds a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University.
Holly Jy joined the Tax Services group in 2017, starting her career with the firm as an intern. She focuses her practice on real estate, advising clients on property sales, partnership interest exchanges and cost segregation studies. Jy holds both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
Alex Keneiby joined the Tax Services group in 2017, where he specializes in real estate taxation. He advises clients on partnership structures, complex transactions, Opportunity Zone investments and tax planning strategies for joint ventures. Keneiby holds both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
Joseph Leocata joined the Tax Services group in 2023 and leads the firm’s Tax Controversy team. He focuses on a wide range of federal, state and local tax matters, representing clients in audits, appeals, administrative hearings and proceedings before the U.S. Tax Court. Leocata holds a law degree from Touro University, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees from St. Joseph’s University.
Christian “CJ” Oliva joined the Assurance and Advisory Services group in 2015. He serves clients across the construction, manufacturing, real estate and non-profit sectors. Oliva has extensive experience with U.S. GAAP and PCAOB audits, as well as due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. He holds a master’s degree from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University.
Steven Rubin joined the Tax Services team in 2015 and is a key member of the firm’s Business Services group. He provides tax compliance and consulting services to entrepreneurs, high-net-worth families and closely held businesses across a wide range of industries. Rubin began his career at the firm as an intern and has since grown into a trusted advisor. He holds a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. In addition to his professional work, Rubin is an active volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Broward County.
Roy Shmuel joined the Tax Services group in 2022 and is a valued member of the firm’s Wealth team. He provides comprehensive tax, accounting and business consulting services to entrepreneurs, family offices, investment firms and high-net-worth individuals both in the U.S. and internationally. Shmuel holds a law degree, a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University.
Dylan Stone joined the Forensics and Advisory Services team in 2023 and is a key member of the firm’s Family Law Forensics group. He actively participates in legal industry events and holds multiple professional credentials, including Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Valuator and Analyst (CVA). Stone earned a master’s degree from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Staten Island (CUNY).
Alongside the advancement of four firm members to associate director, this year’s promotion cycle also included 18 new managers, 14 new seniors and 11 new senior managers. Additionally, seven professionals were promoted within the firm’s supporting departments, and four team members advanced within affiliate firm Provenance Wealth Advisors.
These promotions mark a significant milestone in the firm’s ongoing commitment to recognizing talent, fostering leadership and supporting professional growth.
